Sexual difficulties that I most often encounter in my work are; Problems with Desire, which can be too high, too low or discrepant from your partner’s. Difficulties with Arousal. Such as difficulty in becoming physically aroused or difficulty in maintaining arousal. Absence of Orgasm or difficulty in postponing orgasm and Genital Pain or Spasm. Those can also affect your Intimate Relationship or be caused by it. Besides the main aim of Resolving Sexual Difficulties, therapy would often provide: Unlearning Sexual Myths, Learning to Relate to Your Own Mind and Body, Deepening Intimacy / Communication and Lifestyle Improvements.
I believe we don’t need to suffer or be challenged in therapy in order to progress. This can be done in a light-hearted way by focussing on your strengths. By no means your difficulties will be minimised or not duly acknowledged. It is important to do a clear and detailed assessment of your presenting problem as that is the starting point of our work. Regardless of my professional training and clinical experience, I don’t hide behind the role of the “expert”. I engage with you in dialogue first of all as a fellow human being. Our level of openness and ease with each other is the most contributing factor to the success of therapy. You’ll be fully informed about any interventions or homework beforehand
