Yoga synergy method is an approach to movement, breath and posture derived from Ashtanga Vinyasa and Iyengar yoga styles originally. It also has influences from far eastern traditions such as Nei gong, Tai Chi and Qigong and is aligned for the modern body by being informed by western medical physiotherapy. The founders of the Yoga Synergy school based in Sydney Australia, are Simon Borg Olivier and Bianca Matchliss, microbioligists also fully qualified exercise based physiotherapists as well as instructors of a combined 60+ years teaching experience.
I discovered this style in 2018 after looking for pranayama master teachers to no avail.
There are four primary concepts:
1 Active movement (not passive or uncontrolled momentum or gravity)
2 From the Kanda (L4/L5 spine)
3 With natural breathing (sub-diaphragmatic)
4 & flow (utilising non linear, but multidimensional planes of movement, spirals)
A great misconception exists in modern misunderstandings of yoga which often go precisely opposite to these concepts. Styles like somatic movement and synergy (though more dynamic) go far to bridge the gap and bring consistent effective yogic bliss and reconnection to self.
