Based in West Yorkshire, I am an experienced Occupational Therapist with a demonstrated history working in mental health care in both inpatient and community settings. Specialising in providing skilled interventions for young people and working age adults with a variety of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, stress (including work related), personality disorders, bi-polar affective disorder and schizophrenia. I work collaboratively with clients to promote well-being and increase independence in ways that are meaningful to them, with particular emphasis on using outdoors and the natural world as a therapeutic medium to promote positive changes, wellbeing and recovery.
I offer occupational and nature based therapies. I help women experiencing stress, anxiety and burnout to reset, find balance and feel more connected to themselves and the important people in their lives.
Through my programme and spending dedicated time in nature, they learn strategies to manage anxiety, build resilience and improve sleep. By setting meaningful goals we can work together to creatively find solutions to help you Reset, Reflect, Restore and help you find your roots.
Why use nature?
Therapy in four walls can feel restrictive, it can be hard to express yourself fully in words and there can be pressure to “talk”. Eco or nature based therapies centre on the belief that people are connected to and impacted by the natural environment and there is substantial research that time in nature significantly improves wellbeing.
I can visit you in your home if you are local to the area (petrol costs apply) and I can work with you remotely (online) for some occupational therapy assessments and consultations.
