I offer a combination of acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques (cupping, moxibustion, auricular etc), reflexology/VRT, massage and energy healing tailored to individual needs. My aim is to treat any underlying imbalances in order to resolve the presenting symptoms, according to the principles of TCM. I see the relationship with my patients as a partnership where we work together so as to empower individuals with the confidence to take control of their health and make the changes needed for optimum wellbeing and energy. It usually With 20 years experience I have extensive knowledge of treating headaches and migraine, insomnia, low energy/ME, anxiety and depression, digestive problems, menstrual irregularities and fertility issues, problems during pregnancy and inducing and assisting women in labour. As well as musculoskeletal problems and sports injuries. I have also worked to support patients undergoing chemotherapy.
During the first session (1hr) I undertake an in-depth medical history and physical examination/palpation with tongue and pulse diagnosis in order to form a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis, followed by a short initial treatment to ease presenting symptoms.
From this information a treatment plan for follow up sessions (45mins) is developed. Generally, whilst acupuncture needles are in place, I work the reflexes of the feet and use the other treatment modalities where appropriate. I find this combination speeds up the recovery time and can be powerfully effective often meaning patients require fewer follow-up sessions
For injuries, musculoskeletal and pain conditions such as headaches I use a combination of Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) prior to a more conventional couch acupuncture treatment. Patients stand in a prone position and reflexes on the feet and hands are worked simultaneously for a few minutes whilst the affected area is very gently moved, It works energetically and speeds up the healing of injuries and can sometimes instantly unblock stuck muscles and joints improving mobility for conditions such as: frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, neck stiffness, lower back pain and knee and hip pain.
